Founder’s Story
In 2002, I was living in a new city, broke, exhausted, and facing eviction. I had no time, no network, and no idea how to stay afloat—until a friend connected me with someone I had never met. That stranger spent his free time helping me find a home, even filling out paperwork on my behalf. We didn’t meet until the day I moved in.
When I asked him why he helped, he simply said, “I help you, you help me. Everybody happy.”
That moment changed everything.
From then on, I made a conscious effort to pay it forward through small acts of kindness— helping strangers, checking on neighbours, and finding joy in giving. It wasn’t always easy, but it was deeply rewarding. That personal journey became the seed of an idea: what if there was a platform where kindness wasn’t random—but intentional, visible, and shared?
And so, DMAFB was born—a movement powered by people, purpose, and everyday acts of kindness.
